Galatians 2:20

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

What to Bring

  1. Linens, towels, and pillows. They will not be provided.
  2. A complete Bible, notepad, and pen in Bible Study and Worship.
  3. Appropriate clothing (see Dress Code).
Some “grubby” clothes and tennis shoes for
outdoor recreation. Bring one set of clothes
that could be thrown away if desiring to
    participate in our mud pit.
  4. Shorts that are made out of fairly sturdy material (ex. Khaki shorts). Thin shorts such as mesh shorts and cheerleading shorts will not be appropriate for climbing activities that require a harness.
  5. Beach towels, sunscreen, insect repellent.
  6. Personal articles such as a toothbrush, shampoo, etc. If they are forgotten there is a Wal-Mart within 20-30 minutes of camp.
  7. Spending Money. Campers and adults will have opportunities to make purchases throughout the week, including concessions, T-shirts, CDs, etc. A missions offering will also be taken up one night during worship so be prayerful about how much you want to give.
  8. Females MUST wear shorts over their swimsuits.
  9. We strongly recommend that you bring a pair of Tevas or athletic sandals and/or water shoes. Our lakes have sharp rocks that may cut your feet.
  10. You are encouraged to bring at least two swimsuits. There will be several opportunities during the course of the week for swimming.

Optional Items to Bring

  1. Camera and video equipment
  2. Sunglasses

What Not to Bring

  1. Alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs. Any camper or adult caught with these will be sent home at the church’s expense.
  2. Fireworks or any kind of weapon.
  3. Radios, portable CD, MP3 players, or tape players. Exceptions may be made for church group devotions and fellowship participants. Please understand that we are not liable for lost or stolen items.
  4. No cell phones will be allowed during any organized camp activities. Instruct campers to leave them in their rooms or with an adult.
  5. Skateboards, roller skates, or shoes with skates built in.
  6. Clothes irons.

From Louisville or Lexington:

We are a 45-60 minute drive from either city. There are green state highway department signs to guide you from the interstate.

New Study for Wednesday Nights

June 17, 2009
Drew has started a new study for Wednesday Nights.. famous verses in the Bible!
If we were to start a series in a books, like we have been, we almost never get to look at any verses outside of the book. With this we’ll be skipping around and learning about verses that have become so important & figure out why.

“8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

Drew explained to us so clearly that we are DEAD, we are born in to our trespasses & sins if we’re not in God. We were not able to respond to God, but through God’s great grace, & not through our own works we are now able. We will only boast in our great God!

Summer Interns ’09

Summer is here and there is more excitement than ever at FBC Fairdale!  God the Father has been working mightily within the youth group during the past school year and now we move to the summer where God so often does miraculous things in youth ministry.  We are excited to see God grow and sanctify our youth as well as save those who may be lost!

This summer we are honored have to three awesome youth interns.  The three interns are Dalton Stivers (17), Brigette Bailey (16), and Chassity Arnold (16).  These students will be working alongside Josh and Drew this summer as they will be discipled intensely taking a deep look at the word of God.  The Great Commission in Matthew 28:16 has given every Christian a mandate to make disciples and teach them all Christ has commanded us.  That is our goal.  As these interns are discipled our hope is that they will become atomic missiles for the kingdom of God and reproduce their faith with those around them.

These students were chosen because of their leadership qualities including; teachability, servant attitude, and a desire to exalt Christ.  By God’s grace our youth group will grow and be strengthened by the efforts of the interns.  Please remember them in your prayers as we strive together to exalt Christ!
